Six West- 2010 CCMA New Artist Showcase
For immediate release:
Coming off one of the busiest and most successful Calgary Stampede’s of their career, Six West has been chosen to showcase as a part of the CCMA New Artist Showcase during Country Music Week in Edmonton, AB on September 9, 2010! Along with seven other artists, Six West will get the chance to show the Canadian Country Music scene all they have to offer! Other artists that were chosen to showcase include Lindsay Broughton, Chad Brownlee, Leah Daniels, The Keats, Dawson Reigns, Tenille and Wyatt.
This showcase will take place at the Shaw Conference Centre (Hall D) and will be hosted by 2009 CCMA Rising Star Winner Tara Oram!
A secret panel will also be on site adjudicating the performances and the best in show will receive the 2010 New Artist Showcase Award. Tickets are available online at Country Music Edmonton Website.

Six West will also be appearing at West Edmonton Mall on August 14th, as a part of the RBC Emerging Artist Event @ 1:30pm. The performance will take place on the NewCap Stage directly across from HMV. Everyone is welcome to attend!

SIX WEST BIOGRAPHY
Abbey was born in Saskatchewan but has called Calgary home for the past 19 years. She has been
featured at the Calgary Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree, Nashville North, as well as many
local charity events such as the Alberta Children’s Hospital Gala.
Jason is no stranger to great country music, having released two successful songs to radio in
2005. A proud Saskatchewan singer and musician at heart, Jason has been in Calgary since 2002.
Seven years ago when Jason made his journey to Calgary, something exciting
happened….By combining their diverse musical backgrounds, they discovered a combustible
chemistry as a new duo! As a male/female duo that both sing leads vocals, Six West
can perform a large variety of songs covering many topics and spanning many genres, although they
remain loyal to country music, with their original tunes.
Both Jason and Abbey have business backgrounds with Jason being a CA and Abbey having
her history in Marketing. As Six West they have carried their business knowledge into the music
industry by launching their own Foundation the “Six West Music For Kids Foundation.”
Currently they are celebrating the release of their debut album “Beautiful Something” to
stores across Canada and to-date, Six West has 6 songs on Canadian Country Radio.
Six West’s fresh country sound, passionate, original songs, and strong, brilliant
harmonies are sure to leave you inspired and wanting more!
Both Jason and Abbey feel strongly about the impression music can leave on a person and have made
sure to put out a positive message both on their album and at their live shows. A Six West show isn’t
just about singing great songs, it’s about making moments and having a great time!

The name Six West comes from the six hour trip both Jason and Abbey made
west, to Calgary, where they met and started their music career!
